The Matamoras Republican Club raises money every year for a community project, Over the year's we have held pancake breakfasts, car washes, cheesecake sales and so much more. We use this money not only to help Republicans get elected but to give back to the town in which we live. Last year we purchased materials and built the retaining wall at the corner of Pennsylvania Avenue and Delaware Drive with the help from Lowes Home Improvement. They matched funds for us and sent volunteers to help with the projects.
We purchased and built several benches along Pennsylvania Avenue and Borough Hall, as well, and hope to add some more in the near future.
Last year we gave out our first year of scholarships. Applications will be available in October, to be awarded in December at our Republican Holiday party.
We continue to be an active group with members age ranging from 18-90 years of age. We are proud be be called Americans and have the freedom that we do, here in America.
